Account & Data Deletion — PhoneWitness

Account deletion is currently handled on request by email. To request deletion:

1. Email office@it2.rs from the email address associated with your PhoneWitness account (or include it in your message).
2. Use the subject line “Account deletion — PhoneWitness”.
3. Tell us your role in the app (Eagle or Angel) so we can locate your account. Do not send your password.
4. We verify that the request comes from the account owner (we may ask a confirming question).
5. Once verified, we delete your account and associated data and email you a confirmation.

On your verified request, we delete the personal data associated with the account, including:

• account and profile data (registration details);
• pairing links between Eagle and Angel users within a family;
• recorded media — audio recordings and photos (stored on Amazon Web Services, AWS S3);
• incident location data and defined geofences;
• the notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging / FCM);
• session and incident metadata.

After we verify your request, we delete the account and associated data from active systems within 30 days. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 90 days.

Any data we are legally required to retain (for example, for accounting or legal obligations) is kept only for as long as the law requires, held separately and not used for anything else. Note also that media view links expire after 7 days, which is separate from data deletion.
